800KER.LET Per Lindberg, QZ 1984-01-11 -*- Text Fill -*- Frank da Cruz Columbia University in the City of New York Center for Computing Activities 612 West 115th Street New York, NY 10025 USA Dear Frank, The enclosed tape contains a new implementation of KERMIT. It is KERMIT-800 for the Luxor ABC800 and its work-alikes (like the Facit DTC). It is written in BASIC-II, and based on the C version in the manual. It uses the ADM3A terminal emulator which is built into the terminal option PROM in ABC800. This implementation is made by Torbjorn Alm, a member of the ABC users group "ABC-Klubben". I have made some minor hacks in it. It consists of the two files 800KER.BAS and 800KER.MAN. The tape is written in INTERCHANGE format with the BACKUP program on a DECsystem-10 in 1600 bpi density. Hope that you can read it. I also enclose a floppy (5-inch, Single Sided, Double Density, ABCDOS format) in the unlikely event that you should have a ABC800, or can distribute floppy copies. Many people has asked me for a KERMIT implementation for RSX-11. I hope that someone makes one soon. If you get one, I would be most interested to hear from you. Thank you for acting as a distribution center, we appreciate it. We hope that this implementation will be distributed to as many as possible, it could be of great help to ABC800 users everywhere. Sincerly, Per Lindberg Stockholm University Computer Center, QZ Box 27322 S - 102 54 Stockholm SWEDEN
