1. The list lists all processor families supported by the latest current release; this is probably more than the number of targets in the latest official release.
2. Most embedded processor families have a common CPU 'core' and a lot of variants with different peripherals; I only list the different cores!
3. A lot of processor families are 'second sourced', i.e. the original manufacturer gave licenses to other companies. The sorting of this list is done according the primary manufacturer!
