This problem can occur when other commands are being used at the same time which update /etc/mtab ie: mount, on, automount.... INSTALL: As Root: 1. kill existing automount process. 2. mv /usr/etc/automount /usr/etc/automount.fcs 3. cp `arch`/automount /usr/etc Make sure the modes are correct: 4. chmod 755 /usr/etc/automount -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 73728 Oct 11 1990 /usr/etc/automount* 5. reboot the system
