THIS IS A LIST OF BUGS FIXED IN 1.1PATCH2. IF YOU ARE USING 1.1FCS VERSION, YOU MUST ALSO INSTALL 1.1PATCH1 (PATCH ID 100278) BEFORE INSTALLING THIS PATCH. 1059347 On Quick Dump, RPC time-out message is generated even though the request is successful. 1059521 Agents stuck in a loop trying to kill off child process. 1060610 When an agent`s request log is corrupted, the agent may incorrectly assign a large amount of memory based on the corrupted log. 1060931 MAC address is displayed incorrectly by the SETtool. 1061170 The netmgt_get_request_time() call returns an invalid request timestamp for set requests. 1062386 When activity.log gets corrupted, it'll cause activity daemon to be killed. 1064029 The printer proxy agent na.lpstat failed to set the status code to 3(i.e. printer error) for a Sparcprinter when any error occurs. 1066431 The Event Dispatcher (na.event) allows duplicate rendezvous registrations. This will cause the application to receive duplicate event and trap reports. 1066436 The Event Dispatcher (na.event) and Logger (na.logger) do note rest file write offset when log files are truncated. This causes their log files to be padded with a large number of null bytes. 1057020 Error on trying to retrieve an snmp MIB attribute with not-accessible access characteristic is incorrectly displayed as "missing attribute". 1066825 Browser: 1. Under some conditions, the stream menu can get confused and menu items are ghosted when they should not be, or vice-versa. 2. Reports with the same seconds timestamp but different microsecond timestamps fail to load. 3. (really an RFE) reports with no attributes aren't clearly labeled as such. THE FOLLOWING BUGS WERE FIXED IN 1.1PATCH1 (PATCH ID 100278) BUT WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE README FILE. 1056501 The IP address type in SNMP traps is not handled correctly causing an address of 0.0.0.0 to be displayed. 1060559 snm_discover doesn't gracefully handle ICMP messages and RPC timeouts when looking for a device's portmapper. 1062930 Copying messages from secondary to main folder crashes Browser and Core dumps. THE FOLLOWING BUG IS DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH OPENWINDOWS AND REQUIRES THE APPROPRIATE OPENWINDOWS PATCH. PLEASE CONTACT SUN MICROSYSTEMS FOR THE CORRECT PATCH ID. 1053086 Repeatedly creating and destroying Quick Dump windows causes snm to crash. This bug fix requires the fix to bug id. 1058760. This is included in patch 100247. Installation Instructions ------------------------- To install the SunNet Manager 1.1 Patch 2, you must cd to the directory in which SunNet Manager was originally installed and extract the appropriate tar file. This example assumes you are extracting the sun4 patch files to the directory /usr/snm, from a tar file named snm_patch2.sun4.tar that has been placed in the /usr/snm directory. The installation must be performed as root. Before proceding with the patch installation, the SunNet Manager Console must be shutdown and all agents stopped. The na.activity and na.event processes must be killed, and all agent requests stopped with snm_kill(1). # cd /usr/snm # tar xpf sun4snm_patch2.sun4.tar (or sun3 ) # ranlib lib/libnetmgt.sa.1.1 # ranlib lib/libnetmgt.a Once the extract is complete, you may restart the Console and all requests. If you fail to stop the Console before installing the patches, the Console will crash when it tries to access the shared library and must be restarted. If the activity and event processes are not killed before the installation, the Console may not restart properly after the installation. If this situation occurs, you should kill all instances of na.activity and na.event and then restart the Console.
