The READ_ME files in the sub-directories are a little bit out
of date I think, this MAC should produce relocatable code, and
there is a new (easier to type) d-file format (for those who have
earlier versions, there is a conversion procedure in dfiles/conv.awk)

(On the June 79 US UUG tape, the name 'mac' was changed to 'yaaa'
by persons unknown - if you think you have a thing called 'yaaa' you are
wrong, it is MAC in disguise)

I am assured that the documentation (subdir 'doc') is up to date
(at least the .nr files (users guides) - the file 'sys' which is
an internal guide probably still relates to version 1)
