Device Power Draws
The following chart lists the nominal
operating currents for many of the devices that can be installed in a Model
8595, 9585/9595 or 3511 Storage Enclosure. Permitted bays are listed
for these models and the 3511 because some devices are not supported in
all bays. Use this chart to add up the nominal operating currents
of all the devices and compare your totals to the Total Allowed Currents
chart for these and other systems that appears afterwards.
NOTE: SCSI devices are not supported in Bays A and B of the 8595, 9585
or 9595 systems. These bays are reserved for diskette drives.

or power restrictions. This maximum pertains to the 8595, 9585, 9595,
3511-003 and 3511-0V0 systems and enclosures and assumes they are configured
with the same type drive. The exact power supply (288W/335W/400W)
resident in the system/enclosure must first be determined.
(1) The +12V line compensates for exceeding the +5V line and vice
versa allowing the installation of these quantities of drives in the systems/enclosures.
